You will be asked to provide personal information such as your name, address and email address. We will use this information to contact you about your application. Please see our Privacy Notice for more details.
When you register with our online system, you will have the opportunity to save your details for future application forms (you do not have to do this). If you do apply for another vacancy, the system will ask you to check that your details are up-to-date.
Eligibility
You will be asked to:
- confirm that you have read and meet the eligibility requirements.
- provide your nationality to allow us to confirm that you meet those requirements.
- provide information about your relevant qualifications in Scotland. This includes questions regarding membership of the Law Society of Scotland and the Faculty of Advocates. This is to assist us with the Stage One Consultations.
Under this section, we ask you to provide details of your degrees and professional qualifications and any relevant post-qualification training completed.
Career History
This section asks you to provide details of posts held (starting with the most recent), you should provide dates, the name of the organisation you worked for and a brief description of the work undertaken.
This section also provides you with an opportunity to provide additional information, for example, if there is a gap in your career history.
Any Other Experience and Membership of Specialist Organisations
You can provide details of any specialist professional organisation of which you are a member. You do not need to include the Law Society of Scotland or the Faculty of Advocates in this section.
You can also provide brief details of other employment, appointments held, work undertaken or experience gained (including non-legal and voluntary experience) which is relevant to your suitability for judicial office and which is not referred to elsewhere in your application.
Conflict of Interest
You will be asked if you are in any way related to, or have a personal or professional relationship with any of the Board Members or Board Assistants.
