Non-legal roles
Specialist Knowledge - Non-Legal Roles
A part of any interview for a non-legal role will be an assessment of your specialist knowledge, skills and experience. This may be done by a case study, scenario, competency based questioning or a combination of these. Assessment of your specialist knowledge will be made by the specialist member of the panel who will have experience in the area being assessed.
Other panel members will listen to your response to this section and may use this as evidence of your communications skills.
Preparing for Interview
Interviews are challenging, deliberately so, but the panel will be fair - they want to see the best of you, and are not trying to catch you out. You should read the Interview Process page which gives some general advice on how to prepare for interview.
The role of a specialist ordinary member is to provide the tribunal will support and guidance on matters within the specialism. The interview will seek to test your ability to do this using one or more of the approaches noted above. If a case study is used, you will receive information relating to it in advance of your interview. Make sure you read this thoroughly.
