Shortlisting
A selection panel with a lay/legal balance, will undertake the assessment process.
The selection panel will consider your application and assess your personal and judicial qualities based on the evidence that you provide. In addition, the legal and judicial members will assess your knowledge of the law and your skills and competence in the interpretation and application of the law, including the written work that you submit. The selection panel will then meet to shortlist the candidates going forward to the next stage.
In the event that there is a large volume of applications then a selection panel may undertake an interim “longlisting”, where legal and judicial Board members will assess your knowledge of the law and your skills and competence in the interpretation and application of the law. Those applications ranked most meritorious at this stage will then proceed to a full shortlisting assessment that will include assessment of personal and judicial qualities, and the legal members of the selection panel will assess the legal written work.
If you are shortlisted, you will be invited for interview and we will then commence with the consultations stage of the process.
