On Friday 11 August 2023, the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland (JABS) will launch a recruitment round from which we will be seeking to make recommendation on the appointment of 11 summary sheriffs in Scotland.
In support of this JABS and the Judicial Office will hold a virtual information session on Thursday 10 August 2023 between 5:15pm – 7pm. Sheriff Principal Dowdalls will chair the session which will provide an insight into the working life of a summary sheriff and demystify what the role involves and representatives of the JABS Board will provide an insight on the application process.
Members of the panel will inculde Deirdre Fulton and Emma Marriott from JABS, Summary Sheriff Siobhan Connolly, Summary Sheriff Adrian Fraser and Sheriff Adrian Cottam, Deputy Director of the Judicial Institute. Questions can be emailed in advance to the Judicial Office for Scotland at judicialofficeforscotland@scotcourts.gov.uk. Pleast note that your attendance at the event can be anonymous and there will be the opportunity to submit questions during the event.
